Mark Hackel took a kayak/canoe trip along the Clinton River with Anne Vaara, executive director of the Clinton River Watershed Council, Gerry Santoro of Macomb County's Planning & Economic Development Department, and Harrison Township Supervisor Anthony Forlini on June 17.

The First Annual Shelby Township Kids Day was held at the Summit Center Shopping Plaza parking lot on Saturday, June 12. The event was sponsored by several local businesses and the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office was there to support the event. Money raised benefited the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Michigan. The event featured sheriff department vehicles, Shelby Township Fire Department vehicles, games, and all sorts of attractions for families.

The Macomb County Chamber held a reception for Mark Hackel at the Mackinac Island Leadership Conference. The reception was co-sponsored by HAP and Omega Solutions.
