In 2010, voters take the next step forward when they elect Macomb’s first County Executive. The County Executive has all the duties of a CEO – supervising departments, enforcing all laws and ordinances, and overseeing roads, emergency preparedness and economic development.  The Executive will preserve natural resources, coordinate all planning for the County, and oversee the County’s multi-million dollar budget.  The NEXT Macomb will replace inefficiency with proficiency and ineffectiveness with performance. A strong executive will give Macomb County a voice on regional and state issues. Mark Hackel is the person to lead Macomb County as our first Executive.
